Getting started with AI? Perhaps you’ve already got your feet wet in the world of Machine Learning, but still looking to expand your knowledge and cover the subjects you’ve heard of but didn’t quite have time to cover?

1. COLD EMAIL IS ANNOYING

It is only a bother, annoying, or unprofessional if you are not offering something useful and valuable to the person. You don’t try to SELL them anything, you GIVE them something.

2. DIFFERENT EMAIL / SUBDOMAIN

Use a different Email / Subdomain for your email campaigns. If you do not do this, you will poison your website and email address.

3. GOOD EMAIL WARMING

If you are starting from scratch, use things like
https://instantly.ai/ and https://www.warmupinbox.com/ and https://blog.close.com/email-warm-up/
These will WARM the email so your stuff lands in the INBOX and not the dreaded SPAM box.

4. USE THESE AWESOME COLD EMAIL SERVICES DONE FOR YOU

https://mailchimp.com/ and https://www.yesware.com/ and https://www.close.com/automation and https://landing.brevo.com/
They do all this for you. Just need the e-mail and the addresses. They only do so much a day for free, but hey, it's a little more than you were doing already.

5. ADD VALUE ALWAYS NO MATTER WHAT IN ALL YOU DO

Don’t come off as the guy in a trench coat that whips it open to show a whole array of questionably obtained golden watches and says, “Want to buy a watch.”
Your email campaign should be transparent, compact, direct, and provide value. Do not talk about your offer or your business or anything. Value-added is the key here, not how can I sell myself.
If you opt to share what you do, give them the road map. They won’t duplicate it. They run a business. They will be more favorable to pay you for all that boring labor work. Your freebie must be extremely valuable and reveal a little bit of your secret sauce. You are banking on the fact that they will read it and decide that they don't have the time or resources to pull it off themselves.

6. EXAMPLE COLD EMAIL CAMPAIGN:

"Hey, John.
Saw that you run 4 companies at the same time. Seriously, where do you get an extra 48hrs?
I wrote out a Google doc going over how you can increase your revenue by 20% and increase customer LTV with segmented email campaigns without increasing your ad spend. Can I send it over?
Best,
Your name"

7. This is the breakdown of all emails sent.

Line 1: Personalized greeting
Line 2: Copy and paste their LinkedIn "about" section and ask GPT to make an interesting, or funny comment on it.
Line 3: Value added. We know ecom brands want to increase ROAS and we're giving away our secrets for free
Line 4: Call to action! This is where you tell them what they need to do. Go to here, go to there, and sign up for the newsletter. Whatever. Call to action is vital in everything you do ever. You did stuff to get them to do something – what is that something?

8. THE FOLLOW-UP

In most cases, if you don't follow up, nothing will happen.
Wait a day and then hit them with a follow-up. Follow-ups in everything you ever do ever for anything is important. Get used to it. Or else your time-consuming original outreach is utterly and completely useless.
" Hey John, did you have the time to go over the doc I sent?
Quick question, are you currently doing anything email related?"
This follow-up usually will get the most amount of positive replies. Now you can find out their current situation before deciding to advance your campaign.
For the most part, cold emailing is about LISTENING to business owners' problems. You actually want to HEAR them before you pitch anything. If they feel heard and you develop a natural conversation, it's so easy to get them on board.
Selling doesn’t sell, listening does. This is UNIVERSAL for anything you do ever no matter what it is. Business, sales, and life in general.

9. LEVERAGE EMAILS GIVEN TO YOU

There are ways to lead capture emails and people interested in your product. You should leverage your newsletter and people interested in your product but that is an entirely different automated process.

10. SCRAPING FOR YOU

How do you get these emails? Honestly, scrape them legally from public archives. If you do cold email from the above providers, they have an opt-out, which is what you will need/want. If you do it on your own, you will need to give an opt-out.
How do you scrape? Well, me. I cannot point you in the correct direction because many people do it, but many people are shims and you cannot trust everybody on the internet – go figure. But, they exist – If you choose to pick someone questionable on the internet, know that they are questionable and operate accordingly.
